Olympiacos became the first team to lock up a top-six spot, and thus a direct spot in the EuroLeague Playoffs, by notching its 10th straight home win in a 102-88 triumph over Real Madrid at the Peace and Friendship Stadium. Tyler Dorsey fired on all cylinders to pull off a career night, pouring in a career-high 37 points, while Sasha Vezenkov paired his 26 points with 9 rebounds.
The hosts hit the ground running and took a 31-19 lead after 10 minutes, but the Spanish side responded with a 0-18 run for a 35-40 advantage in the second quarter. Yet, Olympiacos ended the first half with a 14-2 run for a 49-42 lead. Dorsey took over with 12 points and 3 assists in the third quarter, with the hosts going up 72-57 after 30 minutes. Not only did the Reds maintain a comfortable lead down the stretch, but they also managed to claim the head-to-head advantage against Real Madrid.
Having opened the double-round week in style, Olympiacos remained top of the standings by improving its record to 24-12. Meanwhile, Real Madrid suffered a third straight road loss, dropping to 22-14. For the visitors, Trey Lyles made 6-of-8 triples, ending the game on a team-high 22 points.
