Postseason Hopes Dashed? | Virtus – ASVEL | R26 BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS 2025-26
Offensive rebounding and capitalizing on Virtus turnovers helped ASVEL build a 33-43 halftime lead, but a Carsen Edwards–inspired response allowed the hosts to move ahead in the third quarter. However, Glynn Watson – who had been relatively quiet through the first three quarters – scored a layup to give ASVEL a 54-55 edge after 30 minutes. In the fourth quarter, Watson poured in 12 points and received support from Paul Eboua, Braian Angola and Mbaye Ndiaye as ASVEL rebuilt a double-digit cushion and ultimately secured the 70-80 victory.
Watson led ASVEL with 19 points, followed by Ndiaye with 16, Angola with 15 and Eboua with 11. Ndiaye also grabbed 8 rebounds, while Watson finished without a turnover and added 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Virtus was led by Edwards’s 20 points, with Aliou Diarra contributing 10. While ASVEL had a full roster available, Virtus was without Matt Morgan, Alessandro Pajola and Momo Diouf. The win improved ASVEL to 7–19 on the season, while Virtus fell to 12–14.
