Monaco improved to 2-1 on the season following a 79-82 triumph at Unipol Forum in its first road game of the campaign. Even though Milan only held two leads on the night – 25-24 and 27-26 in the second quarter – it was a highly fought contest in which the Monegasques were never able to truly pull away. A dominant performance by Daniel Theis through the first three quarters put Monaco in a great position to grab the win, but an 8-0 run by Marko Guduric in the latter stages of the fourth quarter, making it a two-point ballgame (77-79). Free throws by Nikola Mirotic and Matthew Strazel, along with a decisive block by Alpha Diallo, ensured Monaco came away with the win.
Theis earned player of the game honors with a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double. Mike James netted 18 points at his former home, and Elie Okobo and Alpha Diallo poured in 13 points apiece. For Milan, Devin Booker led the home team with 15 points, followed by Shavon Shields with 13, Lorenzo Brown with 12, and Guduric and Zach LeDay with 10 points each.
