Crvena Zvezda ground out a lifeline win in its final regular-season game on its home court, staying in the hunt for a postseason spot as the Serbian side improved to 20-16 ahead of visits to LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne and Real Madrid. Paris dropped to 14-22 after big wins against Italian rivals Virtus Bologna and EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, looking flat in the second half of a high-octane contest inside a packed Belgrade Arena.
Zvezda was in control pretty much throughout the contest except for a short spell in the second quarter, when Paris edged ahead 44-50 before the hosts closed out the first half with a 13-4 run. Chima Moneke stepped up for the winners as he racked up 21 points and 9 boards while Codi Miller-McIntyre amassed 16 and 14 assists while Ognjen Dobric poured in 19 points in as many minutes on the court. Ebuka Izundu rounded off a flowing team effort with 13 points and 6 boards.
Nadir Hifi led Paris on 20 points while Jared Rhoden and Justin Robinson chipped in with 13 each, but the French side paid the price for poor long-range shooting and ball handling as its shot 6-of-31 from deep and committed 18 turnovers against 16 assists.
