Bayern picked up a 80-85 win over Virtus on Tuesday night, adding a road victory to its two-game winning momentum. Bayern opened the first quarter by attacking the paint for easy baskets, with David McCormack leading the way. In the second quarter, Bayern extended the lead to as many as 14 points, but Virtus used perimeter shooting and improved defense to cut the deficit, sending the teams into halftime tied 43-43. Bayern held the momentum in the second half, but in the final five minutes Virtus, led by Matt Morgan, took the lead. Bayern responded with effective play in the paint to seal the win.
For the German side, McCormack stood out with his dominance in the paint, finishing with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Neno Dimitrijevic added a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists, while Isiaha Mike contributed 12 points and 4 rebounds. Justinian Jessup shot 4-of-7 from three to score 12 points, and Andi Obst added 11 points and 9 assists. For Virtus, Morgan had a career night, making 6 three-pointers on his way to 28 points, Derrick Alston Jr. scored 13 points, Carsen Edwards added 12 points, and Aliou Diarra finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
