Jalen Brunson delivered a historic NBA Finals debut, leading the New York Knicks to a thrilling Game 1 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

Brunson finished with 30 points, the second-most ever by a Knicks player in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, trailing only Willis Reed’s 37-point performance.

In the fourth quarter, Brunson and OG Anunoby took over. Brunson scored 13 points and Anunoby added 12 as the duo combined for 25 points — outscoring the entire Spurs team, which scored 21 points in the period.

The Knicks closed the game on an 11-0 run to steal Game 1 on the road and extend their winning streak to 12 consecutive playoff games.

With the victory, New York tied the 1999 Spurs for the second-longest winning streak within a single postseason in NBA history.

Only the 2017 Warriors (15) have won more consecutive games in a single postseason.
