Only two players on the historic 1992 USA Men’s Olympic Basketball Team played in a signature sneaker: Michael Jordan and Patrick Ewing.
MJ played in the Air Jordan VII while Ewing rocked the Ewing Eclipse.
It’s no surprise, then, that the Eclipse has a special place in Ewing’s heart.
With the 2016 Olympic games about to kick off in Rio, Ewing re-released his Dream Team sneaker for the first time.
SLAM spoke with the Knicks legend at ALife in New York City about the Ewing Eclipse and his memories of playing on the Dream Team alongside 10 other future Hall of Famers.
Ewing called the 1992 Olympic team the “greatest team ever assembled,” and he may be right.
