Marvelle Harris scored a game-high 32 points to lead Team Challenge ALS over the Sons of Westwood, 86-80. Harris went 8-for-11 from the field to lead Team Challenge ALS, which held a 43-15 edge in bench scoring. Jordan Adams led the way with 30 points for the Sons of Westwood, who entered the Elam Ending trailing by eight points and scored the next nine points before eventually falling.
TBT features 72 teams of top professional, college alumni, and international basketball players competing in a single-elimination 5-on-5 tournament for a winner-take-all $2 Million prize. All 72 games will air on ESPN networks beginning Friday, June 29, culminating with the championship game on Friday, August 3 live at 9:00 pm ET on ESPN. Regional competitions will be hosted in Richmond (July 13-15), Los Angeles (July 13-15), Brooklyn (July 20-22) and Columbus (July 20-22), with the semifinals and championship game in Baltimore (August 2-3).
The highly-competitive tournament has attracted some of the best basketball players in the world. In 2017, Overseas Elite won for the third year in a row. Teams compete for spots in the tournament by soliciting votes from fans and supporters via social media. Applicants must be 18 or older and willing to forego their amateur status.
