Richard Roby connected on nine of his 13 field goal attempts and finished with a team-high 20 points to lead Team Colorado past Kimchi Express, 105-73. Marcus Relaphorde added 15 points for the victors, who outscored Kimchi Express, 34-13, in the third quarter and cruised to a fourth straight opening-round win. Marqueze Coleman, who scored a team-high 33 points in the opening-round win over DuBois Dream, led Kimchi Express with 20 points, and Will Davis II pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds in the losing effort.
TBT features 72 teams of top professional, college alumni, and international basketball players competing in a single-elimination 5-on-5 tournament for a winner-take-all $2 Million prize. All 72 games will air on ESPN networks beginning Friday, June 29, culminating with the championship game on Friday, August 3 live at 9:00 pm ET on ESPN. Regional competitions will be hosted in Richmond (July 13-15), Los Angeles (July 13-15), Brooklyn (July 20-22) and Columbus (July 20-22), with the semifinals and championship game in Baltimore (August 2-3).
The highly-competitive tournament has attracted some of the best basketball players in the world. In 2017, Overseas Elite won for the third year in a row. Teams compete for spots in the tournament by soliciting votes from fans and supporters via social media. Applicants must be 18 or older and willing to forego their amateur status.
